The Global Network of Young People Living with HIV (Y+ Global) Board of Directors
is pleased to announce the Executive Office leadership transition.
In 2019, as a result of the Board meeting which was held in Kigali, Rwanda, soon after the International Conference
on AIDS and STIs in Africa (ICASA), Y+ Global Board validated the organization transition plan which includes the
official registration of Y+ Global as an independent organization in the Netherlands (2020), South Africa (2021) and
the transition of the Executive Office leadership.
As per the plan, Y+ Global would like to announce to the communities of young people living with and affected by HIV
in all their diversity, and partners that from the 1st of July 2021 Cedric Nininahazwe, the current Director of
Programme, Management and Governance, will hand over the leadership of the Executive Office.
Since 2016, Cedric Nininahazwe has led Y+ Global to become a respected and trusted advocate for the health and
rights of young people living with HIV and affected by HIV. Cedric has driven the organization’s strategic development,
implemented robust operational systems, recruited a dynamic team of 12 members of the Executive Office and
spearheaded the registration of Y+ Global as an independent organization in Netherland and South Africa.

“We have come a long way! Cedric significantly contributed for Y+ Global to build trust and credibility from the community and partners, we thank him for guiding the organization, handing over and supporting the principle of youth leadership.” – Igor Kuchin, Y+ Global Board Chair.
