Are you a young individual under 30 with a passion for shaping global health's future? Are you interested in using your voice to drive policy changes? We invite you to partake in an exciting opportunity that enables you to advocate for the rights of young people living with HIV on a global scale.
'Count Me In' (CMI) is a collaborative effort involving various networks representing young individuals. These networks comprise Youth LEAD, Y+ Global (the global network of young people living with HIV), and Youth RISE (the network of young people who use and inject drugs). Together since 2018, we've secured grants to encourage youth engagement, ensuring their voices shape global funding processes and enhance their well-being. Our aim is to emphasize the positive impact of involving young people in crucial decisions, particularly related to HIV matters.
Thanks to The Global Fund's support via the Community Rights and Gender (CRG) Strategic Initiative (SI) grant, Count Me In has thrived since 2015. This backing enables those affected by HIV to join significant decision-making groups and contribute to youth-oriented program planning.
In 2022, during the Global Fund's Seventh Replenishment, we spearheaded a robust social media campaign. Our objective was to amplify the voices of young people living with and affected by HIV, especially those seldom heard. This initiative sought to increase awareness, secure financial backing, and ensure ethical youth engagement in global fund processes. Despite progress, there's a need for further amplification. Thus, our campaign celebrates our achievements, prioritizes youth voices, and secures domestic funding for youth-led organizations.
The letter campaign aims to provide young people affected by HIV a platform to share their experiences, hopes, and accomplishments through letters. These letters will be sent to the Global Fund and its donors, urging them to prioritize youth voices in decision-making and back youth-led programs crucial for ending AIDS as a public health concern.
