This 10/12/2022, under the high patronage of H.E the first lady of Burundi, the celebration of World AIDS Day, 2022 edition took place in Gitega province, political capital. Under the theme: “Let us work for equal access to quality HIV services and the opportunities offered by science.”
The word of the Representative of PLHIV was pronounced by Marie Louise INAMAHORO Legal Representative of the National Network of Young living with HIV (RNJ+) in this speech recalled the different discriminations suffered by people living with HIV, especially young people, the categories of people who are left behind when they are much more exposed to HIV and what to do to change this situation...!
For the Minister of Public Health and the Fight against AIDS, Dr Sylvie Nzeyimana, this day offers an opportunity to mobilize all forces to intensify interventions and to show solidarity with people infected or affected by HIV for the reaching three 95s in the year 2030.
The First Lady who sponsored these festivities, invited all Burundians, especially young people, to fight against the inequalities that hinder progress to end AIDS, and to thank all the organizations that take the lead in supporting people living with HIV in Burundi and to development partners who contribute to state interventions to end HIV.
It was great opportunity where RNJ+ met with different actors in the fields of fighting against HIV/AIDS and got appointments that shows that the partners were interested with the work of RNJ+ and we hope to have a large number of those who can support the RNJ+’ Work in the future at country level.
