This Call to Action for International Adolescent Health Week, Financing Her Future: Putting AGYW at the Heart of Health and Decision-Making, highlights the urgent need for governments, donors, health systems, and communities to move beyond short-term projects and invest in sustainable, gender-transformative systems where adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) lead and shape decisions about their health and futures. Rooted in the theme “Nothing About Us Without Us: Power, Voice and Health Equity for All Adolescents”, the document showcases lessons from the Gender Equality Fund in Nigeria and outlines clear actions to institutionalize AGYW leadership, integrate their priorities into national health plans, and ensure long-term financing for community-led services. It is a rallying call to shift from consultation to shared decision-making, and from temporary interventions to lasting investments that sustain AGYW voices, leadership, and solutions.
