The EmpowHER HIV Prevention Menu and Comic are youth-friendly tools designed to support adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) to better understand their HIV prevention options and make informed choices based on their individual needs, preferences, and circumstances. Developed through a participatory and youth-centred approach, the tools use accessible information and engaging storytelling to break down complex HIV prevention concepts and encourage open conversations around prevention.

The HIV Prevention Menu presents information on a range of HIV prevention methods, while the accompanying comic uses relatable scenarios to explore decision-making, relationships, risk, and access to services. Together, the tools aim to move beyond a one-size-fits-all approach to HIV prevention by placing choice, agency, and the lived experiences of young women at the centre. The resources will support peer education, community dialogues, and other youth engagement activities under the EmpowHER project and beyond.
