NETHERLANDS, 1 JULY, 2021| The Global Network of Young People Living with HIV (Y+ Global) is pleased to announce the appointment of Tinashe Rufurwadzo as our new Director of Programmes, Management and Governance. The appointment follows the announcement made by the Board of Directors on 7 June, 2021 regarding the Y+ Global Executive Office leadership transition.
“We welcome the executive office leadership transition and Y+ Global looks forward to working with Tinashe Rufurwadzo and the staff members who will continue to deliver high-quality programming and advocacy for young people living with and affected by HIV in all our diversity. We are confident that Tinashe will lead the Executive Office with integrity, commitment and accountability.” – Renatta Langlais, Y+ Global Treasurer.
Tinashe has over seven years’ experience working with children, adolescents and
young people living with and affected by HIV acquired across a wide range of
demanding roles within civil society, the public sector, corporate environment, and
quasi-government organisations.
Since 2019, Tinashe has been working with Y+ Global as the Communications,
Evidence and Influence Manager. In this role, he sharpened his programming skills
through collaborative designing and execution of a variety of innovative programmes
targeting young people living with and affected by HIV, including young key
populations.
“I love working with young people to push for change so that policies and programmes speak directly to our needs and lives. It is the power we possess and the sense of possibility that gives me motivation, courage and determination to serve the community and improve the quality of life of young people living with HIV. I am grateful to Cedric Nininahazwe, the former Director, for his leadership and look forward to expanding and deepening Y+ Global’s impact.” – Tinashe Rufurwadzo, Director of Programmes, Management and Governance.
